KUWAIT CITY, Sept 11: Director General of Public Authority for Manpower Jamal Al-Dousari announced that the issuance of work permits for all types of companies and jobs will be permitted from early next year. However, the authority has suspended issuing work permits for companies that have temporary quality brand certificates, reports Al-Qabas daily.
Al-Dousari indicated that the previous conditions will still be applicable such as suspension of transfer of visit visas to commercial visas, transfer of government project visas to the private sector work visas unless it is to transfer into another contract under the same sponsor, and transfers within the industrial, fishing and farming sectors.
He added that the authority will continue to issue work permits for companies that have permanent quality brand certificates, transfer government contracts to other contracts under the same sponsor and transfer domestic labor visa to the private sector work permits for three months until November, which is the deadline for the employers. In addition, Al-Dousari said the ministry will be strict about the need for owners of camels and sheep to have three vaccines as a condition for issuing work permits starting from next Sunday, indicating that the procedures are in addition to the decisions already issued by the authority in that regard.
The Public Authority for Civil Information will stop work for three days starting from Thursday, Sept 11 until Sunday, Sept 14, 2014, due to general maintenance of all the systems, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Director-General of PACI Mussaed Al-Asousi mentioned that the suspension of the services will include centers which work on Fridays and Saturdays and this includes renewal of civil IDs through the hotline and SMS through cell phones. He affirmed the purpose of maintenance is to provide better service for the citizens and expatriates.
