KUWAIT CITY, Sept 12: There have been reservations on the recent directives issued by the Director of Residency Affairs Detectives Major General Ghazi Al-Lami directing all female employees of the General Department of Residency Affairs Detectives must stick to loosefitting clothes while at work, and warning that necessary legal action will taken against those who fail to comply, reports Al- Rai daily. In reaction to the circular, security sources said some female employees in the Ministry of Interior wear indecent clothes and a top security official was astounded during an impromptu tour of the department to inspect the work progress.
The official is said to have notified the department’s officials of his observations and remarks. The decision was made as a result of several complaints received by officials in the Ministry of Interior regarding some female employees who wear indecent clothes. Sources added the decision will curb indecent dressing, as it warns the concerned employees of falling in the clutches of law. They reiterated the objective of the circular is to reinforce decorum and discipline among civilians and the police officers in the military establishment, stressing the employees who fail to adhere to the proper dress code while at work will be punished”.
49 held in Jleeb campaign : Farwaniya securitymen launched security campaigns in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area during which they arrested 12 violators of residency law and 37 individuals of various nationalities who failed to produce their identification documents. According to security sources, the campaigns were launched based on instructions from Major General Mohammad Al-Enezi, focusing mainly on shops that were in violation of the trade laws.
