KUWAIT CITY, Sept 11: Undersecretary of Ministry of Health Dr Khalid Al-Sahlawi has reached an agreement with the Ministry of Interior and Higher Committee for the Disabled to coordinate for tightening security in Jahra Health Zone as a solution to the refusal of families of disabled children to receive them, reports Al-Seyassah daily. This agreement was reached during a meeting which was attended by Dr Al-Sahlawi, Director of Jahra Health Zone Dr Fahad Al-Khalifa, Deputy Director Dr Ghaleb Al-Basis and heads of technical departments.
They discussed several issues related to the challenges faced in the health zone including the incessant public brawls in the area that often are continued inside the premises of Jahra Hospital, the most recent of which affected a military officer. Regarding this issue, Dr Al-Basis said the challenges that various departments in the region face and the possible solutions were presented to Dr Al-Sahlawi. The recommendations presented during the meeting included increasing the number of surgeons in the hospital, presenting annual budgets of the zone, allotting a mechanism for executing some engineering projects at the primary healthcare centers and expediting action on promotion procedures.
