Unwilling to leave country, Egyptian woman attempts suicide

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 12: An unidentified Egyptian woman in an attempt to either end her life or prevent her compatriot husband from forcing her to leave the country allegedly stabbed herself with a knife, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to her the husband wanted to divorce her and forced her to sign a document stating she has given custody of the children to him and that she has left the country of her own free will to live with her family in another GCC state. When the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior received information about the suicide attempt paramedics rushed to the spot and took her to the area hospital. The case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.

Nurse kills himself: An unidentified male nurse reportedly ended his life inside the Razi Hospital, reports Al-Anba daily. According to the victim’s colleagues the man was found dead at the break of shift. One of them said when he entered the change room; he saw the man sprawled on the floor. Meanwhile, the Annahar daily said the man was found hanging from a rope tied to the ceiling. The remains of the man have been referred to Forensics. Police are investigating why the man ended his life.
