KUWAIT CITY, Sept 12: “You’re most welcome, give me your “daftar’’ and your daughter...’’ These words were uttered by a traffic officer who dealt with a traffic accident involving a woman (foreigner) who called the Operations Room to report an accident in which her car hit another.

When the traffic officer arrived at the scene, he realized that the foreigner does not understand Arabic, so he used unprofessional words when requesting her to present her identification.

The whole scene was captured on phone-camera by a passerby, who later posted it in one of the social media websites, and according to the security sources, the traffic police has been identified, arrested and referred to the concerned authorities where necessary measures will be taken against them.

Cabbie beaten: Police are looking for three unidentified youths wearing dishdashas for beating a 28-year-old Bangladeshi roaming taxi driver, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The daily added, the suspects also damaged the vehicle and escaped without paying the fare. Meanwhile, police are looking for unidentified persons for beating an unidentified Kuwaiti inside a mosque in Firdous, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily. The daily quoting security sources said when the muezzin of the mosque called the Operations Room of the Ministry of Interior, a police patrol dispatched to the area failed to find the suspects. A case has been registered at the area police station.

One hurt in mishap: A citizen was injured in a two-car collision on Salmi Road near Al-Ghanim Oasis. Sources said one of the cars went up in flames due to the impact. The injured citizen was rushed to Jahra Hospital for medical care. Another citizen was referred to the intensive care unit of Jahra Hospital due to injuries he sustained when his car toppled near Suleil. Necessary measures were taken by security officers to deal with the situation.
